Player Season Stats
Bryan Gil joined us from Sevilla in July, 2021.
A tricky winger with four senior caps for Spain to his name, Bryan's early season in 2023/24 was disrupted by a groin issue that required surgery and ruled him out for a couple of months, August-October, 2023.
He returned to make 12 appearances, 11 in the Premier League and one in the FA Cup. He made two starts in the Premier League, including our thrilling 3-3 draw against Manchester City at the Etihad in November.
That took Bryan to 43 appearances for us in all competitions.
In July, 2024, he joined Girona on loan for the 2024/25 season.
Brought up in Barbate, Andalusia, Bryan moved from his home town club to Sevilla in 2012. He progressed through the youth ranks to make his first team debut in January, 2019, and made another 12 appearances off the bench in La Liga and the Copa del Rey that season, scoring his first senior goal in a 5-0 win against Rayo Vallecano in April.
Bryan made his European football bow as Sevilla won the Europa League in 2019/20. He featured four times in the competition and scored against Qarabag before joining Leganes on loan for the rest of that season, scoring in a 2-2 draw against Real Madrid in July, 2020.
He spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Eibar where he made 29 appearances, including 26 starts in La Liga, scoring four goals. He already has 62 appearances in La Liga, Copa del Rey and Europe under his belt, plus another 23 for Sevilla B in Segunda Division B.
After making 20 appearances in all competitions for us in the first half of his debut season in 2021/22, Bryan was loaned to Valencia in Spain, where he made 17 appearances in La Liga and the Copa del Rey. He joined back up with us for pre-season in July, 2022.
The winger made 11 appearances in 2022/23 including three starts in January before he joined Sevilla on loan for the remainder of the season. That proved a huge success as he made 24 appearances including seven in the Europa League, where he picked up a winners' medal after Sevilla beat Roma on penalties in the final. At the end of 2022/23, Bryan had made 31 appearances for us in all competitions.
Capped from Under-16 to Under-23 youth levels by Spain, Bryan was part of the squad that won the UEFA Under-19 Championship in 2019, starting the semi-final and final, and reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Under-21 Championship during the summer of 2021. He earned the first of his senior international caps against Greece in March, 2021, and won silver with Spain at the Tokyo Olympics.
