Hugo Lloris has told us how he has ‘deep respect’ for Joe Hart.
The goalkeeper with two Premier League titles, 75 England caps and approaching 550 career matches joined us last week on a deal until 2022.
Joe made his first appearance in a Spurs shirt in our 3-0 win against Ipswich Town last weekend. Hugo played the first half of that pre-season opener at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a match that featured all three goalkeepers with Paulo Gazzaniga also in action in the second half.
He’s very positive and he’s going to bring his energy and experience into the squad
“I only have positive things to say about Joe, I have deep respect for him,” said Hugo, preparing for his ninth season at the Club, and his sixth as captain. “I know that behind the goalkeeper, there is a great man.
“He’s very positive and he’s going to bring his energy and experience into the squad.
“Also, it’s fantastic for me to work with him every day. Now we are together with Paulo, it’s a strong goalkeeping group, and we are going to enjoy working together. It’s also amazing for Alfie (Whiteman) and Brandon (Austin). I see Joe as one of the best English goalkeepers in history.”
