Ben Davies admits it’s a ‘special feeling’ for him to make his 50th European appearance for us tonight.
Ben, who is now in his seventh season with us after joining from Swansea City in the summer of 2014, joins an exclusive club of just six players to have reached that landmark figure in our colours - including our all-time appearance maker Steve Perryman, as well as Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane.
And, speaking ahead of this evening’s Europa League clash with Wolfsberger AC - a game in which he will captain the side - the Welshman couldn’t hide his pride at achieving his half-century.
“It’s a proud moment,” our number 33 smiled. “I love playing for this club and to achieve something like that, and to be on the list with some of those players, is a special feeling, something I’m very happy about."

This evening, we take on Wolfsberg in the return leg of our Europa League round of 32 tie (5pm kick-off) and we go into the game with a healthy lead following a 4-1 win in the first leg.
“We were really clinical in that first leg and probably made them look not as good as they actually are,” Ben reflected on last Thursday’s initial encounter. “When they had the ball, they played decent football and caused us problems. I thought we put in a really good, professional performance against them.
“It has to be another professional performance. It’s about going out there, playing well and making sure we do everything right to progress to the next round.”
