We continued our fine form in the Premier League on Boxing Day as we enjoyed a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

After a cagey opening half-an-hour, we broke the deadlock on 32 minutes as Harry Kane swept home from 12 yards to finish off a slick counter-attack. Lucas Moura then doubled that lead in a flash as he leapt highest to power home Emerson Royal’s cross two minutes later before Wilfried Zaha saw red after picking up his second booking of the afternoon. After the break, we wrapped up the win with another fine team goal on 74 minutes as Heung-Min Son steered home from close range to move us up to fifth in the league table.

Here is a look at all the key numbers behind the game…

Highlights - Spurs 3-0 Crystal Palace

Key highlights: Spurs 3-0 Crystal Palace (26.12.21)

Boxing Day bounce

4 - Since 2016, both Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son have been involved in four goals each on Boxing Day. Only Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters has been involved in as many in that period, with three of those goal involvements coming during his time with us in north London (three assists in our 5-0 win over Bournemouth – December, 2018).

15 – The victory over Crystal Palace extended our unbeaten Boxing Day run in the Premier League to 15 matches (W12 D3) – the current longest such run in English football.

30 – Meanwhile, we remain unbeaten at home on Boxing Day in the Premier League era having not lost on December 26 in north London for 30 years.

Electric Lucas

8 – Since Antonio Conte took charge, Lucas Moura has been involved in eight goals in nine appearances (four scored, four assisted). No player has been as influential.

2 – He has now scored goals in back-to-back games for the first time in 10 months having scored against West Ham and then Burnley in February.

3 – Lucas was involved in all three goals against Crystal Palace – scoring one and assisting the other two. It is the first time he has contributed to at least three goals in a single game since his famous hat-trick against Ajax in the 2018/19 Champions League semi-final.

2 – It was just the second time in his Spurs career that he has both scored and assisted in the same Premier League game - and both have come on Boxing Day with his only other such involvement coming in a 5-0 win over Bournemouth on 26 December, 2018.

2 – Emerson Royal has provided two assists so far in his Spurs career – both crosses for compatriot Lucas to head home.

4 - Of the last 10 assists provided for Lucas, four have been by Brazilians (Carlos Vinicius and Emerson Royal with two each).

Kane on a roll

2 - Harry Kane has scored in consecutive Premier League games for the first time since April.

9 – The forward has now also scored nine Premier League goals on Boxing Day – no player in the history of the competition has scored more on 26 December.

6 – He has also managed to register in each of his six Boxing Day appearances to date.

16 - Only Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (24) has scored more Premier League goals than Harry in 2021.

10 – His strike was his 10th goal of the season in all competitions – he is our first player to reach that milestone this campaign.

8 – In our last 16 Premier League encounters with Crystal Palace, he has been involved in 13 goals (eight scored, five assisted).

Sublime Sonny

11 - No player has scored more goals at home in the Premier League in 2021 than Heung-Min Son’s 11 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

6 – In his last six league games against Crystal Palace, the South Korean international has been involved in six goals (four scored, two assists).

6 – He has scored six goals against the Eagles in the Premier League – only against Southampton has he registered more in the competition – and all of them have come at home.

A Conte Christmas

6 – Antonio Conte is just the third Spurs manager to remain undefeated in the Premier League after his first six games in charge (Jacques Santini at the start of 2004/05 and Tim Sherwood in 2013/14). No Spurs manager has remained unbeaten after their first seven matches in the competition.

4 – We have now kept four clean sheets in six Premier League outings under Antonio.

10 – The clean sheet was Hugo Lloris’ 10th in the Premier League against Crystal Palace – against no team has he kept more in the competition.

13 – We have managed 13 shutouts in our last 18 Premier League games against the Eagles, including eight in our last nine home games.

11 – We have won 11 of our last 14 league encounters with Palace (D2 L1) while we are unbeaten in our last 10 home league meetings, winning eight of them, including the last seven on the spin (D2).

3 – We have also won three London derbies on the spin for the first time since December, 2018/January, 2019.

5 – Only one of our six league games under Antonio so far has come away from home (our 0-0 draw with Everton) with each of the last five being played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

5 - So far in nine matches under the Italian, five opposition players have been shown red cards.
