It was a frustrating trip to the south coast for us on Tuesday afternoon as we were held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Southampton.

Our hosts enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges at St Mary’s Stadium and duly got themselves ahead on 25 minutes as a fizzing strike from James Ward-Prowse broke the deadlock. By the 41st minute though, we were back on terms with Harry Kane rifling home from the penalty spot after Heung-Min Son was brought down by Mohammed Salisu in the box – the defender being dismissed in the process after being shown his second yellow card.

With the man advantage, we took the game to the Saints in the second half - Harry Kane and Matt Doherty both putting the ball in the back of the net, only to for both attempts to be ruled out, while we also had eight shots on target. However, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side remained resilient at the back, forcing us to settle for a point.

Here’s a look at the key numbers behind the game…

Highlights - Southampton 1-1 Spurs
