App exclusive: The game in numbers - Spurs 4-0 Ludogorets
Fri 27 November 2020, 13:00|
Tottenham Hotspur
On Thursday night, we produced a shrewd and professional performance to take all three points against Ludogorets in the Europa League with a 4-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Carlos Vinicius gave us a healthy lead in the first half as he fired home his first two goals in a Spurs shirt. A 56-yard curler from Harry Winks then made it three on 63 minutes before Lucas Moura wrapped up proceedings as he rifled home 10 minutes later.
Here’s a look at the key statistics and numbers behind the game...
Winning ways
5 - We have now won five consecutive games in all competitions for the first time since November, 2018.
13 - Our 4-0 win over Ludogorets was our 13th victory this season.
6 - Of our 13 victories this season, six have come in our seven Europa League outings.
Youth and development
3 - There were three debutants for us against Ludogorets and they were all products of our Academy as Harvey White, Dane Scarlett and Alfie Whiteman came off the bench for their first senior appearances in a Spurs shirt. The youthful exuberance of Harvey and Dane saw the pair come so close to marking their debuts with a goal each, while goalkeeper Alfie helped us earn our second clean sheet in this year’s Europa League.
5 - We finished the game with five of our Academy products on the pitch in total with starters Harry Winks and Japhet Tanganga being joined by Harvey White, Alfie Whiteman and Dane Scarlett in the latter stages of the game.
16 years and 247 days - At the age of 16 years and 247 days, Dane Scarlett became our youngest ever player.
Player in focus – Harry Winks
53.7 - Harry Winks curled home our third goal of the evening in astonishing fashion as he picked out the top right-hand corner of the net from 53.7 yards out!
3 - That strike was just his third goal in our colours in 153 appearances.
10.5 - Harry enjoyed 10.5 per cent of possession in the game. That is the third-highest share for any Spurs player this season after Pierre-Emile Højbjerg recorded a 10.8 per cent share against both Newcastle United and Burnley.
4 - Our number eight produced four key passes in the game - his best return in a match this season.
104 - He also made 104 successful passes in the match - 38 more than any other player.
Goals
100 - Our fourth goal against Ludogorets, scored by Lucas, was the 100th goal of Jose Mourinho’s tenure as Head Coach (52 games).
44 - In our last 16 games, we have scored 44 goals. That is an average 2.75 goals per game.
25 - We have now scored in 25 consecutive home fixtures in the UEFA Europa League. That equals the record for the longest home-scoring run in the competition’s history - Sevilla (2014-19) and Villarreal (2010-2016) also scored in 25 home games on the trot.
2 - Goals from Carlos Vinicius and Lucas marked the first time in our history that two Brazilians have scored for us in the same game.
5 - Vinicius has now been involved in five goals in just four appearances in this year’s Europa League.
6 - Lucas now has six goal involvements in his seven Europa League appearances this campaign.
24 - We had 24 shots on goal against Ludogorets - the most we have had in any game so far this season. It is also the most shots we have had in a single game since August, 2019 when we had 30 in a 3-1 win over Aston Villa.
Between the sticks
3 - The clean sheet earned against Ludogorets was our third in a row in all competitions - our best run since April, 2019, when we also recorded three consecutive shut outs. We haven’t gone four games without conceding since September, 2013.
2 - Joe Hart now has two clean sheets in his last three games - his best return since August, 2018 when he kept three in as many games for Burnley.
0 - We didn’t concede a single shot at our goal in the game, the lowest we have faced all season. The last time we did not face a single shot in a game was in September, 2014, as we drew 0-0 with Partizan, also in the Europa League.
Other notable numbers
4 - In just the first half of the game, Tanguy Ndombele completed more take-ons (4) and won more tackles (4) than any other player.
1 - Dele recorded his first assist of the season when he teed up Carlos Vinicius for his second of the game. His last goal creation came against Wolves in our 3-2 home defeat in March, earlier this year.
92 - Of those to have made more than 10 passes in the game, Davinson Sanchez enjoyed the highest passing accuracy in the game with 92 per cent success rate (57/62).
