Moussa Sissoko is hoping his solid partnership with Pierre-Emile Højbjerg can continue to go from strength to strength.

Since our 6-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford, Moussa and Pierre have started each of our last seven Premier League games together – we’ve won five of them and drawn the other two.

That strong run of form is largely due to the duo forming a double pivot in the heart of the pitch which has provided an extra line of defence for our backline – since conceding the late three goals against West Ham United in October, we have kept four cleans sheets in just five outings and conceded just once.

Since he arrived, he’s shown all his qualities and he brings a lot of energy to the team.

And those resilient performances Moussa is hoping he and our summer arrival from Southampton can keep going – the battle continues in earnest this afternoon as we take on Arsenal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (4.30pm kick-off).

“We are very pleased to have Pierre in this team. Since he arrived, he’s shown all his qualities and he brings a lot of energy to the team,” our number 17 explained. “He’s a great midfield player. He’s young but he also has experience as he played in a few teams before.

“Hopefully he will keep going in that way, and bring his energy and ability, he’s a good addition to the squad and he’s showed it since he came to the Club. I hope he keeps going in that way.”
