Ange Postecoglou hopes both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven will be able to feature against AFC Bournemouth on Sunday.
The defensive duo returned to our matchday squad on Thursday evening for the first time as a pair since December's home defeat to Chelsea, 21 games ago, as they were named as substitutes for our 1-0 defeat at AZ Alkmaar.
However, as they continue to build their fitness, the centre-backs were not risked in the game as caution continues to be exercised in their respective returns to action.
Now though, with a couple of days more to rest, recover and train, Ange is hoping the duo will be able to play a part as we return to Premier League action at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.
"They (have) a chance," Ange admitted in his press conference on Friday morning. "To be honest, when I saw the pitch the night before, I pretty much made up my mind - I wasn't going to risk them.
"Last night, it wasn't a great pitch. It wasn't steady under foot and it wasn't a game where I needed to expose them.
"(With) a couple of extra days training and recovery, hopefully both are in line to feature."
Elsewhere, our Head Coach hopes both Dominic Solanke and Ben Davies will be able to be part of the squad for the clash with the Cherries.
After 10 games out with a knee injury, Dom returned to action in Thursday's defeat to AZ but his evening was cut short as he was forced off with a knock in added time.
Ben has missed our last four games but he is now back training and progressing well. The duo will be assessed over the next 48 hours to determine whether they will be available for Sunday's fixture.
Richarlison remains sidelined.
