Robert Vilahamn has reported that captain Bethany England will be sidelined for a ‘few more weeks’ after she missed the 1-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
The experienced forward was ruled out of the Barclays Women’s Super League encounter at Brisbane Road with a quad injury, as reported earlier in the week.
Our Head Coach was hopeful our leading goalscorer would just miss the Seagulls clash this weekend but, speaking after the game, Robert revealed that we will be without Bethany for a longer period of time.
“She had a second scan and she will be out for a few weeks,” he told the media.
“Hopefully she can come back as quickly as possible and play the last few games.”
Asked about her impact on the team, Robert added: “Her form has been great, her personality and leadership are something you need. She’s a big player and all teams would miss her.”
Our skipper is likely to miss our trip to West Ham United next Sunday (12pm UK) as we look to return to winning ways in the WSL.
