Matter of stats | West Ham vs Spurs (WSL) | Our London derby record

Fri 21 March 2025, 11:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Sunday’s London derby at Chigwell Construction Stadium (12pm UK, live on Sky Sports) will be the 12th meeting between the teams in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Heading into this weekend’s clash, we’re currently four games unbeaten against the Hammers (3W and 1D) and, if we come away with three points in Dagenham, it will just be the second time we’ve won four successive WSL meetings with an opponent – the previous side being Leicester City between 2021-23.

And our record in London derbies puts us in a good direction ahead of our trip to the Hammers.

In our last 11 derby matches in England’s top flight, we’ve accumulated six wins and, having beaten Crystal Palace (twice) and West Ham already this season, we’ve an opportunity to win four London derbies in a single campaign for the first time.

However, West Ham have racked up impressive numbers at home so far this term.

In their eight home games this season, Rehanne Skinners’ side have picked up 14 points (4W and 2D) – the most they’ve ever recorded in a top flight campaign – and that includes an excellent 1-1 draw with Manchester City last time out.

In fact, they’ve yet to suffer defeat at Chigwell Construction Stadium since their 5-0 defeat to Chelsea on 19 January, 2025, winning two and drawing once.

Match stats

  • West Ham have won only one of their five WSL home matches against us (D1 L3), losing 4-3 in this fixture last season.
  • We’ve won each of our last three WSL games against West Ham and we could win four successive top flight meetings with an opponent for only the second time (also v Leicester 2021-2023).
  • West Ham have won 14 points from their eight WSL home games this season (W4 D2 L2), their most ever in a top flight campaign. The Hammers could also win five WSL home matches for the first time (also four in 2019-20).
  • West Ham have lost nine of their last 11 London derbies in the WSL (W2) while we’ve won six of our last 11 derby matches (L5); we could win four London derbies in a WSL campaign for the first time.
  • Ji So-Yun (Nine – four goals, five assists) is the only Asian player that has been directly involved in more goals in WSL London derbies than West Ham’s Riko Ueki (three – two goals, one assist), who has scored in her last two league outings against us.
  • Martha Thomas could make her 100th appearance in the WSL this weekend. The Scotland international would be the second player to score or assist on their 100th outing in the competition in a London derby after Niamh Charles in May 2023 (for Chelsea vs West Ham).
