Pat Jennings

Widely recognised as the best goalkeeper in the world in his pomp, Pat joined us in 1964 and went on to make 590 appearances in all competitions - third on our all-time appearance list. He was a key cog in Bill Nicholson’s machine, lifting the FA Cup in 1967, League Cups in 1971 and 1973, and the UEFA Cup in 1972. Football Writers Footballer of the Year in 1973, PFA Player of the Year in 1976, Pat won 119 caps for Northern Ireland between 1964-1986, playing in the 1982 and 1986 World Cup Finals. A coach and goalkeeping consultant since 1993, Pat, now 79, is still out on the training pitches at Hotspur Way, passing his valuable knowledge onto our Academy goalkeepers.

Ossie Ardiles

Such a classy midfielder, Ossie joined us with Ricky Villa after winning the World Cup for Argentina in 1978 in a pioneering move by Keith Burkinshaw. The pair played key roles as we achieved ‘Ossie’s Dream’ by winning the FA Cup at Wembley in 1981. Ossie went on to make 311 appearances between 1978-1988, adding the UEFA Cup in 1984. Close friends with Diego Maradona, he earned 51 caps for Argentina. He later returned to N17 to manage the team in 1993-1994 and is now as popular as ever in his role as Club Ambassador.

Clive Allen

Son of double winner Les Allen, Clive was born in that double year of 1961 and clearly ‘born to play for Spurs’! He fulfilled that destiny in 1984, when he joined us from QPR. He went on to make 135 appearances between 1984-1988, and will forever be remember for his incredible goalscoring feats in 1986/87, when he scored a Club record 49 goals in a season, toppling Jimmy Greaves’ best of 44, and still a Club record. Those goals fired us to third place in the First Division, the FA Cup Final and semi-finals of the League Cup, landing Clive the Golden Boot and a PFA/Football Writers double. Capped five times by England, he returned as a coach in 2004, a role he held until 2012. Clive is now a popular pundit and co-commentator on SPURSPLAY.
