Ange Postecoglou reports that 'a knock' forced Dominic Solanke off at AZ Alkmaar on Thursday night, however he's hopeful the issue will settle down swiftly.
The striker made his long-awaited return from injury in the 1-0 defeat at AZ as he came off the bench with 18 minutes remaining, yet his evening was cut short after a collision in added time saw him feel discomfort in his back, which ultimately forced him off.
After the game, Ange reported that it looked like the striker had sustained a knock, although he couldn't be sure having not seen it.
However, in his press conference on Friday morning ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with AFC Bournemouth, our Head Coach did not rule the England international out of the meeting with his former side.
"With Dom, I think he got a knee into the back so it's probably a bit sore," Ange explained. "It's a knock so hopefully it settles down pretty quickly."
Elsewhere, Ange reported that Ben Davies' condition is improving while Richarlison remains sidelined.
