Ange Postecoglou provided a positive update on the condition of Rodrigo Bentancur after our Carabao Cup semi-final first leg win over Liverpool.

The midfielder had started the clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but was forced off just minutes into the game as he went down after heading the ball.

The Uruguayan received medical attention on the pitch over the next 10 minutes before he was stretchered off with supporters from all corners of the ground standing to applaud him.

At half-time, it was reported that 'Lolo' was 'conscious, talking and will go to hospital for further checks, and now Ange has provided a further update following the conclusion of the game.

Speaking on the Review Show, our Head Coach said: "There's nothing too detailed (at this stage). He was conscious when he came off the field and he’s been taken to hospital for some observations so we’re hoping he’ll be okay.

"It was pretty distressing at the time, seeing him go down like that, for the players. Dealing with adversity, these players just compose themselves and responded to it really well."
