Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Brennan Johnson and Yves Bissouma missed today's defeat at Everton through injury.
Having reported that both players were struggling with knocks in his press conference on Friday, Ange confirmed on Sunday (19 January) that the duo had not travelled for the game at Goodison Park with both players still struggling with issues after Wednesday's north London derby.
However, while he described Yves' injury 'not too bad' and expect the midfielder to be available for next weekend's Premier League visit of Leicester, Brennan's was described 'a bit more significant' with the forward expected to be out for the next three to four weeks.
In missing the game on Merseyside, it was the first time in 64 matches and the first time in 470 days that Brennan has not played, with the last game he was not involved in being our 1-0 win over Luton in October, 2023.
"Brennan and Biss picked up knocks against Arsenal," Ange began. "Biss isn't too bad but Brennan's is probably a bit more significant."
Later asked in his press conference how long the duo would be out, Ange said: "(For Brennan) It's probably three or four weeks. He did it in the second half against Arsenal the other night. So yes, we're looking at three to four weeks."
"Biss was a knock. We're hoping that he should be right by next weekend."
