Bentancur's message to supporters

Rodrigo Bentancur has sent a message to supporters after he was stretchered off the pitch in the early stages of Wednesday night's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg with Liverpool.

With just six minutes on the clock in the first clash of the two-legged semi-final, Rodrigo stooped low for a header from a corner before hitting the floor.

Not returning to his feet, his team-mates quickly realised there was something wrong and rushed over to his aide before beckoning our Club medics onto the field to assist the midfielder.

After receiving treatment for around 10 minutes, the Uruguayan was then stretchered off before being replaced by Brennan Johnson.

It was confirmed at half-time that 'Lolo' was conscious and talking but was taken to hospital for further observations before Ange provided an update on our number 30 in his post-match media duties.

Later on, Rodrigo then provided an update of his own saying, expressing his thanks to supporters for their messages of support before congratulating his team-mates after our late win.

"All good, guys," he said on his official instagram feed. "Thank you for the messages. Congratulations for the victory boys!!!"
