Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Micky van de Ven will play his part against Elfsborg on Thursday night.
Out of action through injury since December's visit of Chelsea, the defender has returned to training and will be given an opportunity to build his match fitness in our final Europa League league phase tie with Elfsborg.
Speaking in his press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Ange said: "Micky is good. He is good to go. We'll try and get him some match minutes tomorrow - that's the plan. We'll see how much we can get out of him tomorrow.
"He's good to go. He's a good week to 10 days training with the team and is in good condition. So he is fine."
Speaking to us after his press conference, Ange added: "The only major news in terms of incomings is Micky van de Ven, he's trained and trained well, which is good, and we'll give him some minutes tomorrow night."
Ange also confirmed in his press conference that James Maddison will be unavailable for two to three weeks after he sustained a calf injury. He joins Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner and Dominic Solanke on our injury list.
Antonin Kinsky, Sergio Reguilon, Djed Spence and Yang-Min Hyeok are ineligible for the clash with Elfsborg.
