Lucas Bergvall has been named your HSBC Player of the Match after he struck late on to win the first leg of our Carabao Cup semi-final clash with Liverpool.

Stroking home his first ever goal for the Club, Lucas came up trumps with a late winner to giv us the advantage heading into February's return leg at Anfield and to earn him your votes as he came top of our Player of the Match poll on our Official App for the first time this campaign.

A star performer on the night, from the off the 18-year-old looked to take the game by the scruff of the neck, playing just behind Dominic Solanke and being one of the leads of our press.

Constantly running, harrying and harassing Liverpool players, including goalkeeper Alisson, the Swede was very much a thorn in the side of the table topping Reds all evening, and eventually got his just rewards for his top performance - his first ever goal for the Club and the match winner!

Coming in the 86th minute at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the midfielder found space in the right moment to curl the ball home from just inside the area after some seriously impressive hold up play from Dominic Solanke.

In the game, no Spurs player attempted more shots than Lucas (2) while only Radu Dragusin (88 per cent) enjoyed a better pass completion rate (85 per cent). Only Yves Bissouma and Dejan Kulusevski (both 4) completed more successful tackles (3).
