Dog of the Match | Liverpool

Wed 08 January 2025, 12:00|Tottenham Hotspur

As the Club for dog lovers, we are featuring a ‘Dog of the Match’ at every home game throughout the season.

Members of Tottenham Hotspawour first-ever Official Supporters’ Club for dog lovers – have been posting pictures of their beloved pets on the group’s Facebook page for a chance for them to be featured on the stadium big screens ahead of kick-off and in the matchday programme.

Tonight’s ‘Dogs of the Match’ are Charlie and Billy, whose stories were shared with us by Spurs fan Sherrie Farris. Billy is 12, a rescue dog who has spent the last seven years with Sherrie. He loves a walk in the Kent countryside followed by a cuddle while sitting on a willing lap! His best friend, Charlie, sadly passed away at the end of 2024 after 16 long and happy years with the family. The Jack Russell x Patterdale’s gentle spirit will always be with them, especially when it’s time for a stroll on the beach. The family are lifelong Spurs fans and Season Ticket Holders. It began with Dad for the past 60 years, and the passion has spread to Sherrie, her mum and her sister.

Alongside our ‘Dog of the Match’, we also profile rescue dogs currently up for adoption with All Dogs Matter – the fantastic charity partner of Tottenham Hotspaw - giving fans the chance to provide a forever home so badly needed.

Tonight, we are featuring Betsy –  a Labrador who came to All Dogs Matter due to a change in her owner’s circumstances. Betsy is a fun, exuberant girl that loves to run around and play. She’s a very clever and food-motivated girl. Betsy had a sheltered start to life and so can find the world a bit scary – for this reason we are looking for an experienced owner who has worked with nervous dogs in the past, who are willing to continue her training. She would like a home in a quieter area, with a private garden to explore.
