Confirmed line-ups | Spurs vs Newcastle

Sat 04 January 2025, 11:15|Tottenham Hotspur

We can confirm the starting line-ups and substitutes for today's lunchtime kick-off against Newcastle United in the Premier League (12.30pm UK).

In our first outing in 2025, Ange Postecoglou has made five changes to the side that started against Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out.

Goalkeeper Brandon Austin makes his senior competitive debut for the Club as he starts in place of Fraser Forster who misses out this afternoon. The Academy graduate, who joined Spurs at the age of eight, last featured in our pre-season tour friendly against Bayern Munich on 3 August.

Two enforced changes sees Djed Spence and Lucas Bergvall come in for the injured Destiny Udogie and suspended Rodrigo Bentancur respectively, whilst Pape Matar Sarr replaces Yves Bissouma who is amongst our substitutes.

The other change sees Timo Werner come in for Heung-Min Son in our front line for his first start since Rangers in the UEFA Europa League on 12 December. Dejan Kulusevski will assume the captaincy today as he leads the team out for the first time.

Starting XI: Austin; Pedro Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Spence; Bergvall, Sarr, Kulusevski (c); Johnson, Solanke, Werner.

Substitutes: Whiteman, Hardy, Dorrington, Reguilon, Bissouma, Olusesi, Maddison, Son, Lankshear.

The away side lineup as follows...

Starting XI: Dubravka; Livramento, Burn, Botman, Hall; Tonali, Guimaraes (c), Joelinton; Murphy, Isak, Gordon.

Substitutes: Vlachodimos, Kelly, Trippier, Miley, Longstaff, Willock, Barnes, Almiron, Osula.
