Ange Postecoglou has explained why James Maddison is not involved in today's clash with Leicester City.

James, who was on target and provided an assist in Thursday's win over Hoffenheim, felt some soreness after the trip to Germany and wasn't 100 per cent ahead of today's game.

Hence the midfielder has not been risked with Pape Matar Sarr starting in his place.

"He's still a bit sore from the other night, it took a fair bit out of the group and he just wasn't 100 per cent," Ange explained. "So he misses out today.

When asked of the severity of it, Ange replied, "No, we hope not. Hopefully he should be alright for next week."
