Teenage dream: Mathys Tel's Premier League debut sees Club record equalled

Fri 21 February 2025, 16:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Mathys Tel’s Premier League debut against Manchester United on Sunday was notable for another reason than just the important 1-0 win in N17.

By facing the Red Devils, the 19-year-old forward became the seventh different teenager to feature for us in the Premier League this season - the joint-most we have ever used in a single season in the competition.

Leading the way in terms of teenage appearances this term have been Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, who have both appeared in 18 of our 25 league fixtures.

Mikey Moore (seven) and Wilson Odobert (four) have also seen game time, while Will Lankshear and Alfie Dorrington have both featured from the substitutes bench.

This crop of seven young players has ensured the Club has matched a long-standing record for the most teenage players we’ve fielded in a single Premier League season.

Not since the 1992-93 and 1993-94 seasons have seen so many teenagers feature for us in the top flight.
