Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Timo Werner is back to full fitness and is in contention to return to the squad for Wednesday's clash with Manchester City.
The forward, who has been out of action with a hamstring issue since our FA Cup third round win at Tamworth, has returned to training in the past week and will now be available for selection as the Citizens travel to N17 in the Premier League (kick-off 7.30pm UK).
Ange Postecoglou reported in his press conference on Tuesday afternoon that the forward could have returned to the squad for Saturday's win over Ipswich Town having been fit enough, but he ultimately missed out with better balance required in terms of our offensive and defensive options amongst our substitutes - especially after the loss of Ben Davies.
"He was only really available for the weekend but, because of the matchday squad and the kind of makeup of the squad, I left him out," he explained. "Obviously, with Ben (Davies) out, we put (Sergio) Reguilon on as an extra defender on the bench.
"It was only Sunday's game that he was actually available, but he's trained and he's available for tomorrow."
Ange has also reported that while we won't have any other player's back in contention for this game, all those who featured against Ipswich Town came through the game unscathed and are all available to face City.
Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin, Ben Davies, Dominic Solanke and Richarlison all remain sidelined.
