Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that James Maddison and Destiny Udogie are in contention to return to action as we welcome Manchester United to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
As we take on the Red Devils in the Premier League this weekend, both players have returned to training and enjoyed a full week on the grass for the first time since November, in the case of Madders, and pre-season in the case of Destiny - a period in which the defender was just returning to the grass having undergone surgery in the spring, playing just 45 minutes in a pre-season match before the start of the new season.
James has been out of action since January's 3-2 Europa League win over Hoffenheim after he was ruled out on the day of our subsequent Premier League clash with Leicester with a calf injury.
Destiny, meanwhile, has been sidelined since the end of last year when he was forced off in our final game of 2024, a 2-2 home draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.
The duo though have now both recovered from their muscular issues, have trained with the squad and are now back and available for Ange to select with United our latest opponents in the top flight.
"Madders is a little bit ahead of schedule (in his recovery)," Ange explained as he spoke to us on Friday morning. "He’s feeling really good. He’s had a good week of training. We were thinking maybe (it'll be) next week for him, but he’s trained really well all week, and he’s had the least amount of time out, so he’s looking in a good place.
"Of the longer-term (injuries), Destiny is back in team training as well, which is good. He’s ticked all the boxes in terms of getting through his rehab and conditioning, so he’s part of the squad."
Elsewhere, Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner have both returned to training this week and are edging ever closer to returning to the field. Meanwhile, there is positive news on Wilson Odobert as he has also returned to the grass but caution will be taken with his reintegration after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin, Dominic Solanke and Richarlison all remain sidelined for this weekend's game.
