Team news from Villa | Watkins out, Rashford and Asensio available

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has confirmed Ollie Watkins will miss our FA Cup fourth round clash at Villa Park on Sunday (5.35pm UK).

The England striker is one of five Villa players out - but new arrivals Marcus Rashford, on loan from United, and former Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio, on loan from PSG, are both available.

Watkins, 11 goals this season, was substituted at half-time as Villa lost at Wolves last weekend. Speaking to the media on Friday, Emery reported: “For him, each day is being important, how he is feeling, but for Sunday, I think he is not going to be available because today he didn’t train. Tomorrow, I think he is not going to train as well, because he will need more days to recover. Hopefully, for next week, he will be available.”

Watkins joins Matty Cash, Pau Torres, Ross Barkley and Tyrone Mings on the sidelines. Emery confirmed: “We are going to work tomorrow, but at the beginning, we have out, not available for Sunday, Tyrone Mings and Pau Torres, Cash, Ross Barkley and Watkins."

Rashford and Asensio arrived in the closing days of the transfer window, and are set to make their Villa debuts. However, fellow new arrival, Axel Disasi, is not available as he played for parent club Chelsea in the third round of the competition.
