Robert Vilahamn has confirmed that Ella Morris and Drew Spence are in contention for Sunday’s trip to Arsenal on Sunday (12.30pm UK).
As we return to Barclays Women’s Super League action this weekend following a two-week break, the pair have benefitted from more time on the training pitch ahead of our visit to the Emirates Stadium.
Ella has been out of action since the end of November after she suffered an MCL injury on international duty for the England U23s, while midfielder Drew has missed our last three games in all competitions.
Now, after a positive week of training with the squad, our Head Coach revealed that the pair are all ready and are options for this weekend’s north London derby.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, Robert said: “We are getting Ella and Drew back as options for the squad, which is really good for us."
Eveliina Summanen, meanwhile, will miss the encounter in north London, but Robert also reported that the Finland international is progressing well as she recovers from a hamstring injury that she suffered in training last month.
"Eveliina is on the grass but not in collective training, so she will not play. The rest of the squad will be available, so there will be some tough choices."
We will remain without Kit Graham (ACL) who is a long-term absentee.
