Team news | Spurs vs City (WSL) | Summanen is back

Fri 28 February 2025, 15:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Robert Vilahamn reports that Eveliina Summanen is back and available for selection as we take on Manchester City in the Barclays Women’s Super League at Brisbane Road on Sunday (2pm UK).

The midfielder has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury ahead of our clash with Leicester City at Brisbane Road back in January having featured in every WSL game before that.

Our Head Coach revealed that the Finland international was ‘progressing well’ earlier this month and, after a positive two weeks on the training pitch over the international break, Eveliina is now back in contention for this weekend’s encounter.

Clare Hunt, meanwhile, will be suspended for Sunday’s clash with City after an accumulation of five yellow card offences.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, Robert said: “We have Clare suspended for this game and then Eveliina is back for this weekend, which is really good news.

"So it's a really strong squad right now, it's going to be hard to pick a squad for Sunday."

Following an impressive 20 first team players on international duty over the last two weeks, Robert revealed that all players returned to Hotspur Way with no concerns ahead of this weekend's encounter in the capital.

We will remain without Kit Graham as a long-term absentee.
