11 out of 13 | Our remarkable run of goalscorers against Brentford

Mon 03 February 2025, 15:40|Tottenham Hotspur

Our goalscorers' list when it comes to facing Brentford in the Premier League is quite remarkable.

Running out 2-0 winners over the Bees on Sunday afternoon, we have now scored, removing own goals, 13 times against the west London side in the Premier League - and those goals, incredibly, have come from 11 different players.

Since Brentford's promotion to the top flight back in 2021, we have faced them eight times since, winning four - including each of the last three meetings - drawing three and losing just once.

And in Sunday's victory at the Gtech Community Stadium saw Pape Matar Sarr became the 11th different player to register for us against the men in red and white despite us having scored just 13 goals against them.

Here is a look at our different Premier League goalscorers against Brentford...

Heung-Min Son

In our first-ever Premier League meeting with Brentford back in December, 2021, Sonny scored our second top flight goal against them. In a 2-0 win over the Bees, a Sergi Canos own goal opened the scoring for us at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before Sonny finished off a counter attack to double our advantage.

Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

In our first game back after the break for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg struck as we came from 2-0 down to take a point at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Having conceded either side of the break with Vitaly Janelt opening the scoring for our hosts before Ivan Toney doubled the Bees' advantage, a stunning header from Kane before a composed finish from Hojbjerg saw us earn a point in west London

Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal

The following season, we once again earned a 2-2 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium. This time, as we embarked on our new journey under Ange Postecoglou, we took the lead in west London with Cristian Romero heading home with 11 minutes on the clock.

However, by 36 minutes, we trailed in the game with Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo turning the game on its head. Yet, we were not to be denied at least an unbeaten start under our new boss as Emerson Royal drilled in from range on the stroke of half-time which was enough to earn us a point.

Destiny Udogie, Brennan Johnson and Richarlison

Just over a year ago, we once again showed exceptional resilience as we came from behind to defeat the Bees in north London.

Having fallen behind to Neal Maupay's opener on 15 minutes, an eight-minute salvo at the start of the second half saw Destiny Udogie, Brennan Johnson and Richarlison all find the back of the net against the west London side to put us 3-1 up. Ivan Toney scored with 23 minutes to go to make it a tense finish but we held on for victory.

Dominic Solanke and James Maddison

At the start of this campaign, we ran out 3-1 winners over the Bees at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Again, it was a game we fell behind in as Bryan Mbeumo continued Brentford's remarkable fast starts to Premier League games with another early goal.

Yet, we responded well, levelling on eight minutes with Dominic Solanke bagging his first Spurs goal before Brennan Johnson turned the tide, scoring from the angle with his second in a run of six consecutive goalscoring games for the Welshman.

James Maddison later bagged his first of the campaign as he clipped home delightfully late on to make sure of the win.

Pape Matar Sarr

Our Sarr man became the latest addition to our list of different goalscorers against Brentford as he bagged our second in Sunday's 2-0 win.

Having taken the lead through a Vitaly Janelt own goal midway through the first half, Pape finished off a superb team move late on to see us to our first ever win at the Gtech Community Stadium.
