No more Marmoush
Omar Marmoush’s stock rose dramatically after getting 15 goals and 10 assists in 17 Bundesliga games this season - the kind of figures compatriot Mo Salah puts up.
It earned the Egypt international a huge money move to City in January - but ‘Die Adler’ have coped in Marmoush’s absence.
Dino Toppmöller’s side remain third in the table, as they were when the versatile forward left, and Eintracht have also come through a two-leg encounter against Ajax (6-2 on aggregate) to reach this stage of the Europa League.

Effortless Ekitike

Hugo Ekitike was pivotal in the first half of the season alongside Marmoush - and the 6ft 3ins striker remains a threat.
With a slight frame, despite his notable height, Ekitike can link play, make up ground rapidly and has quick, skilful feet to shift the ball and shoot.
No player in the German top-flight has had more attempts on goal (95) than Ekitike (13 goals).
He scored a hat-trick against England’s Under-21 side for France last month with Wilson Odobert setting him up twice in a 5-3 win - providing low crosses for close range finishes.
Micky van de Ven’s pace to stop him racing in behind could be crucial, while we’ll see how aggressively Cristian Romero tries to deal with Ekitike when he tries to hold up the ball.
Deadly on the counter
Head Coach Toppmöller wants to win the ball high, describing his players as 'positive troublemakers' to disrupt the opposition - operating generally in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
They’re not overly focused on possession-based football (ranking eighth in the Bundesliga with an average of 49 per cent per game) and will make the most of their quick forwards to hurt Spurs on the break.
No Bundesliga team has scored more counter-attack goals (nine) and Toppmöller may ask his players to sit deeper tonight.
Compared to the team Spurs played in the 2022/23 Champions League, a lot has changed in terms of personnel and system - 3-4-3 back then under Oliver Glasner.
Mario Götze has upped his creativity in Marmoush’s absence, Arthur Theate and Rasmus Kristensen have been rocks at the back since their respective summer arrivals, while Kaua Santos has impressed in goal in the absence of club captain Kevin Trapp.

Romero's vision

Cristian Romero’s primary job is defending, but the way he works the ball between the lines has been sorely missed during his long injury absence.
Sunday’s first goal against Southampton was a great example of this - whipping a pass forward into James Maddison to get the move going.
The centre-back stands with his foot on the ball, pointing at team-mates - looking to play into midfield or the striker.
It’s crucial to Spurs’ build-up - and starts for club and country should mean he’s close to full match fitness.
Spurs' selection
Ange Postecoglou only made three changes to his starting XI on Sunday.
“I thought it was important to get some sort of cohesion moving into Thursday, but for guys like Destiny (Udogie) and Micky (van de Ven), it was important that they got a full recovery," he said.
Neither player was used, nor was Richarlison, who was back amongst the subs after recovering from injury. There are some big decisions, like which two of the three full-backs starts tonight - Djed Spence, Pedro Porro or Udogie?
With Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert both scoring twice in their last home starts, who plays on the right-wing? And will Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall and Maddison make up the midfield after all three were withdrawn on Sunday?
All will be revealed soon enough…
