Team news | Man Utd vs Spurs | Son faces late fitness test for Old Trafford trip

Fri 27 September 2024, 13:42|Tottenham Hotspur

Heung-Min Son faces a late fitness test for Sunday's Premier League encounter away to Manchester United, confirmed Ange Postecoglou.

Our captain looked in some discomfort when he came off against Qarabag on Thursday night and will continue to be assessed in training ahead of our trip to Old Trafford (kick-off 4.30pm UK).

Sonny played 71 minutes of our 3-0 win in the Europa League but received treatment immediately after his involvement in our third goal – seeing his shot from outside the box parried to Dominic Solanke who pounced to score – before being replaced by Timo Werner at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

"It's still early days from last night," said our Head Coach on Friday (27 September). "Fair to say the boys that put in a shift are fairly tired.

"Apart from Sonny, everyone's ok, but I don't think it's too bad [with Sonny]. He wants to train tomorrow so we'll see how he goes at training and make a decision from there. We have another day up our sleeve to give him every chance."
