We are delighted to announce the signing of Anna Csiki from BK Häcken, subject to international clearance and work permit.
The 24-year-old Hungary international has signed a deal which will run until 2028. She will wear the number 14 shirt for the 2024/25 Barclays Women’s Super League campaign.
Anna joined Ferencvaros at the age of 13 and spent eight years at the Club, making her senior debut at 16-years-old. During her time in Budapest, she won the Hungarian top flight twice, while claiming the Hungarian Women’s Cup three times.
The midfielder then moved to Sweden to join Goteborg FC – now known as BK Häcken – midway through the 2020 campaign and has since made 69 league appearances during her time with the Club, scoring eight goals.
In her four-year spell in Gothenburg, Sweden, she was part of the side that won the Damallsvenskan (Swedish top flight) in 2020 before claiming more silverware in the following campaign, winning the Swedish Cup after beating Eskilstuna United 3-0 in the final. She featured regularly in their UEFA Women’s Champions League campaigns and helped them to reach the quarter-finals of the competition last term - their best run since 2013.
Head Coach Robert Vilahamn and Anna have previously crossed paths with the Hungarian having played under the Swedish coach during his time at BK Häcken in 2022. She featured in all but two league games that season and netted five goals – her best goalscoring campaign in her career to date.
On the international stage, Anna was a regular for Hungary at Under-17 and Under-19 level before making her senior debut in September, 2017. She has since earned 40 caps for her country and scored eight goals, recently netting in their 5-0 win over Azerbaijan back in July, 2024.
