'It meant a lot' - Spence on maiden Spurs strike

Djed Spence admits scoring his first goal for the Club 'meant a lot' to him.
Grabbing his maiden goal in Wednesday's dramatic late win over Coventry City in the third round of the Carabao Cup, the strike was a well deserved one for the full back after an inspired second-half cameo from him helped us to book our place in the fourth round for the first time since 2021.
A signing from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2022, Djed spent 18 months of his first two seasons at the Club out on loan, gaining additional game time at French side Stade Rennais, Championship side Leeds and Italian outfit Genoa, before working his way into Ange Postecoglou's plans over the summer.
Impressing in pre-season, the defender has now appeared in three of our five games thus far this term and that is something the former Nottingham Forest is now keen to build on as he hopes to help the team through a hectic schedule ahead.

“It meant a lot. It was a good feeling - especially to get the team back in the game and then the win," Djed reflected at full-time. "So, yes, the goal meant a lot.
"The manager said just to be ready (before I came on), that was it really. Change the game and hopefully get the win.
"I’m happy to be in the plans. I’m happy to keep moving forward with the team. Hopefully we keep winning and we can go on from there.
"I’m looking forward. I’ve just got to stay ready and be ready for whenever I’m called upon, like today."
