Internationals | Assist for skipper Deki, minutes for our Young Lions

Mon 09 September 2024, 09:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Dejan Kulusevski completed a memorable September international break with an assist against Estonia to make it two wins out of two as Sweden skipper in the UEFA Nations League.

Given the armband by new national team coach Jon Dahl Tomasson for this international break, Deki set up the third goal for Viktor Gyokeres just before the break to put his side in complete control after earlier first half goals from Gyokeres and Alexander Isak.

Earning his 41st cap, Deki completed the full 90 minutes as it stayed 3-0 at Solna's Strawberry Arena with team-mate Lucas Bergvall coming off the bench for Gyokeres in the latter stages, earning his third cap. Sweden top Group C1 on goal difference from Slovakia.

Turning attention to England's youth teams, Leo Black and Mikey Moore both started as England Under-19s drew 1-1 with Croatia on Saturday, while Luca Williams-Barnett started and Jun'ai Byfield and Malachi Hardy came off the bench as England Under-17s were held to a goalless draw by Israel in Duisburg, Germany.
