Davies captains Wales to Montenegro win

Tue 10 September 2024, 11:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Ben Davies took the Wales National Team armband once more as Wales maintained their unbeaten start to the 2024/25 UEFA Nations League with a 2-1 win over Montenegro on Monday.

The defender, who was wearing the armband for the 11th time in his international career, led his team-mates out in torrential downpours at the Gradski Stadion in Niksic and played the full 90 minutes as Wales claimed their first three points of the campaign.

Picking up his 88th cap for his country, Ben was later joined on the field by Brennan Johnson, who came on as a substitute on 43 minutes. That was Brennan's 30th appearance for his nation.

The win brings Wales up to four points from their first two games of the campaign after Friday's draw with Turkey in Cardiff.
