Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on Destiny Udogie after the defender was forced off in our 3-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday.

Starting once more on the left of our back four, Destiny pulled up feeling his left quadricep after a bursting run down the left hand side around the half-hour mark.

After initially looking like he would be substituted, the full-back returned to the game after a brief moment of treatment of the sidelines however, when the teams returned for the second half, the decision had been made to take Destiny off, with Djed replacing him.

Speaking after the match, Ange intimated that taking Destiny off at the interval was a precautionary move, with encouragement taken from the fact the Italian was ultimately able to complete the entire first half.

"We’ll see how he is," Ange remarked on Destiny. "He felt something in his quad when he made that run but he did see out the half.

"But at half-time, we had Djed ready to go - I thought Djed did really well after he came on - so it just made sense to take him off."
