Team news from Brighton | Hurzeler hoping to see players return for Sunday's clash

Fri 04 October 2024, 13:20|Tottenham Hotspur

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler has hinted up to four players could be back in contention for our Premier League encounter at the Amex on Sunday (4.30pm).

Midfielders James Milner and Brajan Gruda, wide man Solly March and Joel Veltman are back in the frame, with Hurzeler stating that Dutch international Veltman is back in the squad. However, the Seagulls will still be without a number of longer-term injuries, including dangerman Joao Pedro, who scored twice against us at the Amex last season.

Speaking on Friday, Hurzeler said: "The positive things are Brajan Gruda and Solly March trained really well this week, so they might be an option, as is James Milner. Joel Veltman is back in the squad.

"The long-term injuries are Matt O'Riley, Joao Pedro, JP van Hecke. They are still missing and we have to be careful with Simon Adingra. In terms of van Hecke I don’t think his injury is that bad but you go from week to week. Matt O'Riley is very positive, he’s making small steps forward and I think that's very important when you have a bad injury. He’s sticking to the plan after his surgery. He's doing his rehab and we're looking forward to seeing him back on the pitch.

"So, overall, I think positive and negative news but in general more positive with the players coming back."
