Jess Naz came off the bench to feature for England on Friday night as they suffered a 4-3 defeat to Germany in an international friendly at Wembley Stadium.
Our number seven, who received her second call-up to the senior squad earlier this month, was introduced in 81st minute and nearly made an impact on just her second cap for the Lionesses, but her left-footed curled effort was gathered by Ann-Katrin Berger.
The 24-year-old also showcased speed and strength in the closing stages on what was a positive cameo at Wembley Stadium as Sarina Wiegman’s side continue to build preparations for next summer’s EURO 2025 finals.
Elsewhere, Clare Hunt and Charlotte Grant’s Australia were held by Luana Buhler’s Switzerland in Zürich on Friday evening in an international friendly. Caitlin Foord fired the Matildas ahead just before the break, converting from the penalty spot, but that was cancelled out by Geraldine Reuteler’s second half strike.
Clare started and completed the full 90 minutes, earning her 24th cap for the Matildas, while ‘Charli’ was an unused substitute on the night. Fellow defender Luana also played the full match on what was her 55th cap for her country.
Becky Spencer started in between the sticks Jamaica in their friendly against France as The Blues ran out 3-0 winners at Auguste Bonal. Midfielder Drew Spence remained on the bench.
