Getting to know | Jhanaie Pierre

Wed 23 October 2024, 10:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Appearing first and exclusively in this season’s official matchday programme, we get to know our Women Under-21s players.

Taking on the Q&A this time is England Under-17 international Jhanaie Pierre, who has progressed through our academy and featured in the Barclays Women's Super League matchday squad for the first time in last weekend's trip to Chelsea.

We sat down with the forward ahead of our WSL encounter with Liverpool to find out a little more about her…

When did you first start training with Spurs?

“I have been here for about six or seven seasons, so I was around 10-years-old when I first started.”

Any national team appearances?

“I was recently called-up to the England Under-17s squad. It was a good experience and tried to get to know everyone as it was my first camp there.”

Favourite food?

“I don’t have a specific one but if I had to choose one, it would be pasta.”

Any pets?

“I have a toy poodle called Milo. We got it around a year ago.”

Favourite TV show?

“I did like a bit of ‘Regular Show’ when I was younger – it’s an American sitcom.”

Any hidden talents?

“I used to play the drums and the steelpan, I took lessons in them when I was growing up and I would say I’m quite decent at them.”

Who do you like to watch in the first team and why?

“Jess Naz or Drew Spence. I feel like Drew is composed on the ball and Jess plays in my position, she’s fast and she recently made her senior debut for England as well, so I look up to them and most of the players in the building to be honest.”

If you could meet someone famous, who would it be?

“There’s quite a few people I would love the opportunity to meet, but I would probably say Michael Olise. I like his style of football, plus he’s calm and collected on the ball.”

How would you sum up your character?

“When I’m meeting new people, I can be quiet and chilled. I feel once you get to know me, I start showing my personality a bit more and getting more comfortable.”
