Dane Scarlett capped an excellent week with his second goal in as many games for loan club Oxford United on Tuesday night.
The striker side-footed home after a good team move to put the U’s 1-0 up inside 12 minutes at home to Derby County on what was his first league start for the Championship side.
That came hot on the heels of his first goal for Oxford on Saturday – a dramatic stoppage-time header to snatch a point at home to West Bromwich Albion, having come on as a second-half substitute.
Both games finished 1-1, with Dane’s domestic goals adding to his strike for England Under-21s last Tuesday as they thrashed Azerbaijan 7-0 to qualify for the European Under-21 Championships.
A product of our Academy, the forward has made eight appearances in all competitions for Oxford United to date.
