Cristian Romero returned to action for Argentina in the early hours of Wednesday morning, as they romped to a 6-0 demolition of Bolivia in their World Cup Qualifiers.

Cuti started and completed the full 90 at the Estadio Mâs Monumental in Buenos Aires, completing 96 per cent of his 112 passes across the game.

It was Lionel Messi who opened the scoring 19 minutes in when he capitalised on a defensive error, before grabbing the assists for Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez's goals before the interval.

Substitute Thiago Almada made it four just after the hour mark, before a late brace from Messi, that saw him beat two defenders to fire in his second and then finding the bottom corner completed his 10th international hat-trick and a resounding victory.

It leaves La Albiceleste top of the CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup qualifying group, three points clear of Colombia and nine points clear of Paraguay in the final qualification spot, with eight games to play.
