Pape Matar Sarr delivered an all-star performance as Senegal left it late to beat Malawi in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Tuesday.

Having been rested during his nation's 4-0 home win over the same African opponent on Friday (11 October), the 22-year-old came into the starting XI and played the entirety of a contest that saw Sadio Mane snatch an away win in the 96th minute at Malawi's Bingu National Stadium.

On his 27th cap, our dynamic midfielder made 102 touches, completed 65 of his 71 passes (92 per cent), made 10 ball recoveries and created three chances whilst coming away with the most duels (17) and successful dribbles (seven) to mark a standout display at the heart of midfield.

After consecutive wins over Malawi this break, Senegal remain unbeaten and stay joint-top of Group L with Burkina Faso on 10 points.

Elsewhere, Yves Bissouma captained Mali once again and also put in a full shift for his country as they were held to a goalless draw away to Guinea-Bissau in Group I of AFCON qualifying.
