Our eight home comeback wins under Ange

Since Ange Postecoglou became our Head Coach ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, no side has comeback to win more times than us at home in the Premier League.

On eight occasions now under Ange we have conceded the opening goal in top flight home game but have gone onto take all three points - the latest of which being Saturday's 4-1 win over West Ham.

Remarkably, the most comeback home wins any other side in the competition has produced since then has been just four, exactly half our tally!

So, as we seem to be developing a habit of battling back from adversity, here's a look back at those eight comeback wins under Ange so far at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

1. Spurs 2-1 Sheffield United | September, 2023

Perhaps one of the most memorable victories on this list, we produced the most dramatic of comebacks to beat Sheffield United right at the start of Ange's reign.

A sign of things to come you may say as team spirit, belief and the noise of our fans carried us through against the newly-promoted Blades, who made it quite the test for us.

Despite all of our possession and supposed control of the game, it was the Yorkshire side who ultimately broke the deadlock as Gustavo Hamer struck on 74 minutes and they looked on course to take the three points.

However, in what was also the latest comeback victory ever in the Premier League (at the time), we went on to snatch all three points in the final minutes of the game. First, Richarlison flicked home a header from a corner to level the game on 97 minutes 33 seconds. Then, 140 seconds later, the forward slipped in Dejan Kulusevski who rifled home from inside the area to see us take the win.

2. Spurs 3-2 Brentford | January, 2024

Fast forward four months and an eight minute second-half salvo saw us overcome Brentford in north London.

Down from the 15th minute as Neal Maupay opened the scoring at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, we needed half-time to regroup but the team talk at the interval certainly did its work as we came out on fire for the second 45.

Levelling within three minutes through Destiny Udogie, within 60 seconds we were ahead with Brennan Johnson firing home before Richarlison doubled our lead seven minutes later.

The Bees looked capable of producing a fightback after Ivan Toney reduced their arrears with 23 minutes left to play but we held on to our lead in N17 for another important three points.

Spurs 2-1 Brighton | February, 2024

As we came from behind to defeat Brighton back in February, there was more late, late drama.

Again, we conceded early as Pascal Groß put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot on 17 minutes as we endured a tough opening period against the Seagulls.

However, after another important half-time reset, we came out with a renewed vigour and were level just after the hour mark with Pape Matar Sarr guiding home from close range.

And then, as we looked to be earning a point against Brighton, super sub Brennan Johnson popped up in the 96th minute of the match to bag the winner!

4. Spurs 3-1 Crystal Palace | March, 2024

Once more, a flurry of second-half goals saw us to victory in N17.

Unable to be separated after a tense first half, Eberechi Eze produced a stunning free-kick to break the deadlock at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium just before the hour mark.

For a while, it seemed like the then managerless Eagles would take all three points as they showed great discipline and organisation but, on 77 minutes, we finally found a way through with Timo Werner guiding home his first goal in Lilywhite.

And then the proverbial floodgates opened as just three minutes later we had the lead through Cristian Romero before Heung-Min Son wrapped up the points with a trademark finish two minutes from time.

5. Spurs 2-1 Luton Town | March, 2024

Later that month, another late goal helped us to another three points as Luton Town made their first ever visit to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Having fallen behind within three minutes to Tahith Chong's opener, it would again be a more assertive second-half performance which would see us to victory at our home.

We hit both posts in the first period and went agonisingly close on a number of occasions, but we finally found a way through via an own goal six minutes after the restart with Issa Kabore diverting Brennan Johnson's teasing delivery into his own net.

Brennan later had an effort cleared off the line before he teed up Heung-Min Son for the winner in the 86th minute.

6. Spurs 2-1 Burnley | May, 2024

Another comeback win and another late winner came as we hosted relegation-threatened Burnley in N17.

The Clarets came to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium needing a victory to keep their hopes of Premier League survival alive and came fighting as expected, taking the lead on 25 minutes via a Jacob Bruun Larsen strike.

However, we weren't behind for long as a trademark rip-roaring effort from Pedro Porro put us level seven minutes later.

What did takes its time was finding the desired winner. That took us until the final eight minutes of the game as our Player of the Season Micky van de Ven produced a finish that Sonny would be proud of, opening up his body to caress the ball home with his left foot from the edge of the area.

7. Spurs 3-1 Brentford | September, 2024

Something many sides have been challenged with this season, Brentford tasked us to fightback from adversity as they arrived in N17 last month.

Meeting the Bees midway through their run of scoring in the opening two minutes in four consecutive Premier League games, one of those strikes came against us as Bryan Mbeumo produced a stunning volley with less than a minute on the clock in N17.

However, like against Burnley four months earlier, we responded quickly and were level seven minutes later as Dominic Solanke bagged his first goal in our colours. We then put ourselves ahead 20 minutes later as Brennan Johnson grabbed the second goal in his incredible scoring run.

It wasn't until the 85th minute though that we were able to wrap up the points with James Maddison bursting forward to bag his first of the campaign.

8. Spurs 4-1 West Ham | October, 2024

Perhaps our most convincing win in the list, on Saturday we came from behind to sweep West Ham United aside 4-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Falling behind against the run of play as Mohammed Kudus guided in from inside the box on 18 minutes, we were deservedly back on level terms 18 minutes later as Dejan Kulusevki crashed home his second of the campaign.

Then, once more, a second-half salvo saw us take charge and victory in N17. Yves Bissouma continued his fine goalscoring campaign for club and country as he grabbed his fourth of the campaign to give us the lead on 52 minutes.

Just three minutes later, we had our third via a Alphonse Areola own goal before there was light and day between us and the Hammers as Sonny bagged our fourth on the hours mark. We should have gone on to score more - most notably when our number seven hit the post just seconds later - before any chance of a Irons comeback was nullified as Kudus saw reed for violent conduct late on.
