Matter of stats | Palace vs Spurs - Brennan on song ahead of Eagles clash

Sat 26 October 2024, 16:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Brennan Johnson aims for a hat-trick of away day goals when we face Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Sunday (2pm UK).

The in-form forward - six goals in his last eight appearances in all competitions - has scored in his last two outings in the Premier League, at Manchester United and Brighton.

Brennan also has happy memories of Palace from last season, when he claimed assists for three of our five goals against the south Londoners, a 2-1 win at Selhurst in October followed by a 3-1 success back in N17 in March.

Match stats

- We've won 19 of our 30 Premier League games against Palace (D7 L4), our highest win rate against any fellow London side in the competition’s history (63%). That includes winning 15 of our last 18 PL games against Palace (D2 L1), and five in a row since a 3-0 loss at Selhurst Park in September, 2021
- We've won seven of our last nine Premier League games after playing in Europe in midweek (L2), although they did lose their most recent such fixture against Brighton.
- We've made the most runs into the opposition penalty area (449) and the most overlapping runs in the final third (100) in the Premier League this season
- Our players also top those categories individually - Dominic Solanke with 93 runs into the box and Dejan Kulusevski making 17 final-third overlapping runs
- We rank top for passes played into the opponent penalty area (306) and expected goals (16.95) in the Premier League so far this season
- Meanwhile, we're second only to Manchester City for shots (145), shots on target (55), touches in the opposition box (355) and successful opposition half passes (2,069)
- James Maddison could make his 200th Premier League appearance in this match. He ranks top for passes played into the opposition penalty area this season (72), while he has five assists in his last 11 games
- He's also been directly involved in 15 goals across his last 18 away starts in the Premier League (5 goals, 10 assists)
- Palace won five of their first seven home Premier League matches under Oliver Glasner (D1 L1), scoring 22 goals. However, since then, they’re winless in four at Selhurst Park (D2 L2), failing to score in three
- Palace have won just two of their last 17 London derbies in the Premier League (D6 L9), with those wins coming at home to Brentford (3-1 in December 2023) and West Ham (5-2 in April). Indeed, Palace have failed to win any of their three London derbies so far this term (D1 L2)
- Eberechi Eze has 13 goal involvements in his last 19 Premier League starts for Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park (11 goals, 2 assists)
