Manchester United at home in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals
Wed 30 October 2024, 22:40|Tottenham Hotspur
We will host Manchester United in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
Having defeated Manchester City 2-1 earlier this evening (Wednesday 30 October) to book our place in the final eight, in the draw that was made after the game, we were handed their city rivals United as our next test in the competition.
The tie shall take place in the week commencing 16 December.
Ticketing details will be confirmed in due course.
This is the seventh time we will have faced United in the League Cup with each side having won three of the meetings each in the competition.
Falling in our first meeting - a two-legged second round tie at the start of the 1979/80 season - we won the next three meetings, firstly another second round tie in 1981 with Steve Archibald and Micky Hazard on target across the two games before a 3-0 third round win in 1989 and a 3-1 quarter-final victory in 1998 - we went onto lift the trophy that campaign.
The Red Devils have come out on top in the two most recent contests, falling in the 2009 League Cup Final at Wembley on penalties before we fell 2-0 in the quarter-finals the very next season.
