Legacy Numbers | Will Lankshear assigned #888

Will Lankshear has been assigned his Legacy Number after making his competitive debut against Ferencvaros in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.

The striker lined up in a youthful side against the Hungary champions in Matchday 2 of the UEL at the Groupama Arena in Budapest. Indeed, Ange Postecoglou named four teenagers in his starting XI - Will, plus Mikey Moore (#883), Lucas Bergvall (#885) and Archie Gray (#886).

Will joined us from Sheffield United in 2022 and after spending the 2022/23 season with our Under-18s, was in blistering form for our Under-21s last term, scoring 32 goals in all competitions as we won the Premier League 2 title - his performances led to him being named overall Premier League 2 Player of the Season.

He followed up with impressive cameos for the first team in pre-season, including goals in friendlies against Hearts, Team K League and appearances in both matches against FC Bayern.

Having now made his first team debut, Wilson is now assigned Legacy Number #888.
