Guglielmo Vicario made his competitive debut and Destiny Udogie provided an assist as Italy ran out 4-1 winners over Israel in Udine on Monday night.
On a great night for the duo, Guglielmo was picked to start between the sticks in the UEFA Nations League game which was played out in his hometown while Destiny came off the bench to set up Italy's fourth in a resounding victory for the Azzurri.
Despite the final scoreline, it took the hosts 41 minutes to find a way through the Israel defence and it came via a penalty with Mateo Retegui dinking the ball home before Giovanni Di Lorenzo opened his account for the evening nine minutes into the second half. Mohammad Abu Fani halved the deficit for the visitors, curling in directly from a corner before Davide Fratessi restored the Italians' two-goal advantage.
It was at that point, 73 minutes on the clock, that Destiny was brought into the fray and he delivered within six minutes of his introduction, popping up inside the area on the left hand side of the six yard box to cut the ball back for Di Lorenzo to fire in. That was Destiny's third assist for his nation in just six caps.
It was Vic's third cap in total for his nation.
