One of football's greats, George Weah, has revealed he is a lifelong Spurs supporter.

One of the greatest forwards ever to play the game, George Weah disclosed his love for the Club in an on-stage interview at Monday night's Ballon d'Or awards ceremony.

At the ceremony in Paris to announce and present the winner of the iconic award for footballer of the year, the 1996 Ballon d'Or winner was asked as part of the interview ahead of the announcement to reveal a player that he likes to watch.

But the three-time African Footballer of the Year did so much more than that as, after he responded by pointing to a former legendary player of our own in Harry Kane, who collected the Gerd Muller Trophy at the ceremony - an award for the player who scored the most goals in European club football and on the international stage - the former AC Milan man confessed his love for Spurs

"This is one of the players I love -  I'm a fan of Mr Kane, when he was playing for my team (Tottenham Hotspur)," he began

"I'm a very good fan because I believe he is very strong and clever striker and I support the team of Tottenham, since I was a kid."

Later speaking about why he supported the Club, the Liberia international highlighted our former forward Garth Crooks (527) - one of only two players to score in seven consecutive games for the Club - as one of his idols as a child.

"(During the days of) Garth Crooks, during those days at Tottenham Hotspur, that's all we watched so I love Tottenham although I never played for them," he explained.
