Ange's update on Lucas Bergvall

Ange Postecoglou reported that Lucas Bergvall was ‘okay’ after suffering with cramp in our 1-0 win against AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.

The Sweden midfielder impressed starting alongside Rodrigo Bentacur and James Maddison in MD3 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Indeed, Lucas won the penalty converted by Richarlison for the game’s only goal on 53 minutes as we made it three wins out of three in the league phase.

However, Lucas went down a couple of times in the second half and was substituted shortly after treatment in the 73rd minute.

Speaking afterwards on the Review Show, Ange told us: “Lucas is okay, I think it’s just cramp. Obviously, he hasn’t played a lot. Again, I thought Lucas and Archie (Gray) did really well. Again, you kind of ignore their age and look at what they are contributing and I thought both did a good job.”
