Tottenham music students performing for charity at AS Roma fixture

Tue 26 November 2024, 11:50|Tottenham Hotspur

We encourage fans attending Thursday’s home fixture with AS Roma to show their support for music students from the London Academy of Excellence Tottenham (LAET), who will be performing on the concourse pre-match for charity.

The highly-talented students will be delivering a live set – consisting of contemporary tracks, originals and Spurs classics - at the White Hart on East Level 5 between 6.40pm-7pm ahead of the 8pm kick-off.

It’s all to raise awareness and funds for Key Changes – a charity that provides music services and mentoring for young people and adults experiencing mental health challenges. Any donations to the charity will be able to be made via a contactless device on the night.

LAET is one of the highest achieving state schools in the country - sponsored by the Club and Highgate School – based on the stadium campus. It prioritises local students most likely to benefit from an academically-rigorous curriculum and those from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds, giving Tottenham’s brightest students the best possible chance of accessing top universities.

A-Level results have been outstanding year-on-year, with 2024 seeing an incredible 57% of grades either A* or A with 86% A*-B - both significantly above national averages.

Nearly three quarters of students have gone onto Russell Group Universities compared to 1% of Tottenham school leavers the year before LAET opened, with 58 students winning places at the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge and others electing to undertake degree apprenticeships.

For the first time in the school’s history, students gained places at prestigious overseas Universities in 2024, with two students heading to Harvard on full academic scholarships.

The school provides full-time mental health support to help students cope with the pressures of A-Levels and continue to achieve their dreams in the face of challenging personal circumstances. This work has received support from the Club, with more than £30,000 raised in an auction of player signed items in 2021.
