Wed 20 November 2024, 09:00|Tottenham Hotspur

The Club is delighted to become the inaugural sporting partner of the Multibank UK 2024 Christmas Campaign.

The campaign seeks to raise awareness and respond to the rising issues of hygiene poverty amongst young people in the United Kingdom.

The Club will show its support for the campaign around our match against Fulham on Sunday 1 December by facilitating fan donations at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Donation points will be set-up at N17 Arena and Tottenham Community Sports Centre where match-going fans can gift essential hygiene products.

Club joins the Multibank 2024 Christmas Campaign

• Club announces support for Multibank UK 2024 Christmas Campaign to provide essential hygiene packs for vulnerable young people in north London
• Fans will be able to make donations at our match against Fulham on Sunday 1 December at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
• All donations will go to London-based Felix Multibank’s network of charities, social workers, health professionals, and teachers in our surrounding boroughs

One in three students on Free School Meals at Primary and Secondary level are persistently absent from school during the Autumn and Winter terms, and hygiene issues are one of the primary drivers of their absence. One million children in the UK today are believed to be attending school in dirty uniform, with 400,000 households without soap or toothpaste. Furthermore, according to The Hygiene Bank, of those that have experienced hygiene poverty in the last 12 months, 46% have gone without washing detergent.

All products gifted on the day will be distributed to the London-based Felix Multibank in order to support the build of essential hygiene packs for a localised network of charities, social workers, health professionals and teachers, servicing the boroughs of Enfield, Haringey, Barnet, and wider.

Donation banks will accept soaps, shower gels, shampoos, deodorant (spray & roll-on), toothpaste and toothbrushes, provided they are sealed and within expiration date.

Donna-Maria Cullen, Executive Director at Tottenham Hotspur, said: “For many years, the Club has made donations to its local foodbanks ahead of Christmas in support of the most vulnerable within our community.

“We are therefore delighted to be supporting The Multibank in its Christmas campaign around the too often overlooked issue of hygiene poverty. We are certain that our football family will unite to ensure young people in our area are able to build their confidence from an early stage in life by having access to basic hygiene products.”

Charlotte Hill OBE, CEO of The Felix Project and Felix's Multibank, added: “We are thrilled to have Spurs support The Multibank’s Hygiene Poverty campaign. It makes a huge difference.

“Sadly, we know so many people across London are struggling to afford the basics, we recently found 1-in-8 working families are using a food bank once a week to help them put food on the table. But it is not only food they cannot afford, for those living in poverty everyday hygiene items are also a struggle to cover.

“With Felix's Multibank we are now able to supply things like toothpaste, toilets rolls and shampoo, and help families have more money for things like heating and food this winter."

For those not in attendance at the match but keen to support the campaign, donations can be pledged at multibank.co.uk...
