Team news | Spurs vs AS Roma | Udogie and Werner fitness update

Wed 27 November 2024, 14:40|Tottenham Hotspur

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Destiny Udogie and Timo Werner are both available for our Europa League encounter against Roma on Thursday.

Our Head Coach was asked about their fitness in his press conference on Wednesday (27 November) after they both appeared to have picked up knocks during our 4-0 away win over Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.

Destiny was forced off in the closing stages as Djed Spence came on in his place at the same time as Timo Werner entered the action in place of double goalscorer James Maddison at the Etihad Stadium. Leading 3-0 at the time, the German still made his mark to supply Brennan Johnson for our fourth in stoppage-time after showing Man City's Kyle Walker a clean pair of heels with a rapid burst of speed but did look in some discomfort as he celebrated with his team-mates.

However, when asked about the pair's fitness ahead of tomorrow night's encounter, Ange allayed any doubts by saying: "They're both okay."
